Caine's Arcade: Cardboard Box Arcade
Caine's Arcade from Nirvan Mullick on Vimeo.
This sweet little gentleman, Caine, has built a cardboard arcade in his dad's auto shop. What happens when his first customer (and only customer) turns out to be an aspiring film maker is heartwarming!
When I was little I made my own "World Of Plants", in which I saved all the weeds my mother had dug out of the garden and re-potted them. I must have been outside repotting dandelions for at least an hour, I drew up a shop sign and stuck it to my letterbox, and started to make up a theme song for my radio commercial- but then it was dinner time and getting dark so I went inside and forgot about my shop until a few days later when I was reminded to clean up the heat stricken weeds and collect my sign from out of the neighbours yard. Had I of ever had a customer things might have been different. I could have become the youngest person to start a business in the history of man! Had I of had a customer it probably would have been a family friend, and not someone as enthusiastic for the folly of youth as Nirvan Mulick. I guess what sets Caine apart from other would be entrepreneurs is his dedication to task, long term vision and charming persona, and what sets Nirvan apart is his ability to still see the world with the sparkling, fun seeking eyes of a child.
This actually reminds me of another film, about a bus driver from Copenhagen who must have always been charming to his customers...
Ahhh, the world is a lovely place when people encourage one another and remember to have fun.
All is full of love,
