It was terrible- made worse by the fact that most heartburn medications are not safe to use while pregnant. Mylanta, Tums, Eno, Rennie- even though they were not safe to use I still snuck them in occassionally just to get some relief from my bad reflux. I avoided spicy foods, didnt eat in the two hours before bedtime, had no caffiene or alcohol- and yet I was still feeling sick. So I did some research on home remedies, and found relief by the most simple and humble of DIY methods.
My All Natural Recipe For Heartburn, Reflux and Stomach Acid Relief
1tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 cup (250mL) room temperature water
(optional: melt 1tsp honey in a half cup of boiling water, and mix that half cup of hot honey-water with half a cup of icy cold water to make 1 cup of room temperature water)
I'm not going to kid you, this remedy does not taste awesome. Persevere, swallow that vile cup down and within minutes you will feel better. Simple. Depending on how bad the heartburn/reflux/vomiting is, this mixture may 'burn' or 'tingle' on the way down, but within seconds you will get the relief you crave.
I recommend adding Apple Cider Vinegar to the water you have your multi-vitamins with every night. Apple Cider Vinegar is meant to have amazing cleansing and healing properties, as well as being linked to increasing the effectiveness of other weight loss techniques- WINNING!
