Indie Game: The Movie is a feature documentary made by a friend-of-a-friend of mine (word up T-Bone!!) about the creative people and the creative process they undertake to develop and release independent video games.
The film's premise is that of following a couple of quirky indie game developers as they create and release their games to the world, but its more than that: it’s about the emotional journey these characters go on over the years as they nurture their creations from sketch to playability- and then wait with baited breath as they release their creation into the world.
The website www.indiegamethemovie.com has this to say about the film:
The film tells the emotional story of a two-man team, Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, as they craft and release their first major game for XBLA, "Super Meat Boy". It follows Phil Fish, the creator of the highly- anticipated game, "FEZ", as he shows it for the first time in 4 years at PAX East. And, the film tells behind-the-scenes story an independent designer, Jonathan Blow, who made one of highest-rated video games of all-time, "Braid".Join me in asking your local independent theatre to screen this doco here- and ask your friends to shout about it too.
